Boating at Ohiopyle
Come out and test your skills at whitewater boating. Whether you are an experienced kayaker or just looking to try something new, Ohiopyle has something for you. The Middle Youghiogheny offers Class 1/2 rapids, perfect for a family outing or a relaxing fishing trip. If you are on the river in early morning there is a good chance of seeing many species of wildlife including river otter and mergansers. If you are looking for something a little faster paced, the Lower Youghiogheny is a mix of Class 3/4 rapids. Don't have time to do the entire river? Put on at the Lower Yough launch, hit the first six rapids and then take out at the Loop Take Out on Ferncliff. You can walk right back to your vehicle. If you have never been whitewater rafting it is highly suggested that you take a guided trip with one of the four concessionaires located in Ohiopyle. There are serious dangers associated with whitewater boating.
